Popular Vote Helps Decide the Winner, Online Voting Opens January 2

MADISON, Wis. (December 14, 2016) – It’s down to three from a potential pool of more than 10,000 companies in the global Innovation Award competition put on by IT solutions giant Citrix, and it was announced today that Madison, Wis.-based company Envision IT is among the three finalists. Nominees were judged on their use of technology to positively affect lives. Envision IT’s entry centered on its work with Exact Sciences, also headquartered in Madison, and how Envision IT’s services allowed rapid globalization of Exact Sciences’ early detection colorectal cancer screening test Cologuard thanks to secure, efficient, and easy-to-use technology for the diagnostic company’s international workforce. The winner will be announced January 11 at the 11th annual Citrix Summit in Anaheim, Calif.

Envision IT is the only U.S. firm among the three finalists, with the other two representing New Zealand and Denmark. The winner will be decided based on recommendations from a panel of industry experts, including last year’s winner, as well as a popular vote. Voting opens January 2 and anyone can vote at www.Citrix.com/Innovation.

“This is a story that goes beyond bits and bytes to one of technology transforming lives,” said Nancy Pautsch, president of Envision IT. “Working with Exact Sciences reinforced our belief in the immense potential of for-profit companies to do good and, in turn, be recognized by their local communities and ultimately have the world respond to their good work too.”

Envision IT is grounded in the principles of “conscious capitalism” and operates as a “firm of endearment.” The company works to improve the lives of all its stakeholders – employees, clients, business partners, and the community. “Government and non-profit groups shouldn’t have to do the work of improving society alone,” said Pautsch. “With the majority of Wisconsin workers employed by private, for-profit businesses, we can really move the needle when we focus on a greater purpose.”

“Our team approaches the mission of eradicating colon cancer with passion and purpose,” said Kevin Conroy, chairman and CEO of Exact Sciences. “It’s because of that focus that we’ve been able to revolutionize the early detection of one of the most curable forms of cancer.”

Pautsch went on to say that “people who aren’t familiar with this way of running a business may think it sounds naively idealistic, yet research shows the stock price performance of companies operating like a ‘firm of endearment,’ meaning serving a greater purpose than solely wealth generation, outpaces that of the S&P 500, so it doesn’t just feel good, it’s also good business.”

Envision IT’s business model, which incorporates philanthropy, volunteerism, quality client experience, and continual investment in its employees, including starting college funds for every baby born to an employee, is a rarity in the competitive technology industry. “Our employees love helping clients use technology to improve the lives of the people their businesses serve,” said Pautsch.
