UniconOS
UniconOS (formerly eLux) is a secure, lightweight, hardware-agnostic, Linux-based operating system used on managed thin client and repurposed PC endpoints to deliver a locked-down, easily managed user experience for Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, DaaS, and other virtual workspace environments.
UniconOS Management
UniconOS Management (formerly Scout, or “Scout Enterprise Management Suite”) is the server-based console used to provision, configure, patch, and monitor UniconOS endpoints across on-premises and cloud environments. It consists of a Windows service (Scout Server), a management console (Scout Console), and a web-based dashboard (Scout Board).
ELIAS
ELIAS is the UniconOS Image Administration Service allows you to easily manage the firmware of devices running UniconOS. Default images such as recovery.idf contain the operating system and applications but can be modified by using ELIAS. ELIAS helps you create new image definition files (IDF) or modify the existing ones.
For an individual client image, you select exactly those software packages for your IDF you want to have installed on the devices’ flash memory. An IDF is a structured package list defining all software packages for the operating system and applications.
Scout Cloud Gateway
Unicon’s Scout Cloud Gateway is a convenient solution for managing devices that are on the Internet and have to be connected to their Scout Server via VPN. Home office devices or mobile devices in changing environments can thus be conveniently and securely connected to the existing infrastructure without the need for a VPN backend.
The Scout Cloud Gateway (SCG) comes with a VPN infrastructure – the VPN connection is established and provided automatically. The first time an UniconOS device connects, users are required to authenticate. After successful authentication, the SCG transmits the VPN configuration and Scout Server address to the device. This communication uses the secure management protocol.
